If reservation can still be fulfilled, we ask for 50% deposit immediately on the kid reserved. Buyer will forfeit the deposit if they change their mind or fail to pick up kid at arranged time, if this happens kid is placed back up for sale. We will refund in the case of death of kid, or death of the kid we were retaining and choose your reserved kid. Hillside Acre reserves the right to retain any kid from any breeding. You may also transfer the deposit to another kid if this case arises. 100% of sale is due upon pick-up of kid. Transport is at the cost and responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise arranged! We are willing to meet within a 20 mile radius at no cost or we can make arrangements for a fee of $.50/mile over 20 miles.
We ask for 50% deposit down on any adult goat if you are not able to make full payment. We reserve the right to make any further financial arrangements per individual transaction. Kids can be sold as bottle babies 4-5 weeks of age to those who have the means to keep bottle baby healthy or we keep kids until 9 weeks weaned beforereleased. Most bucklings born will be sold as wethers and they will be banded at 9 weeks of age. Kids released at 9 weeks of age will be UTD on vaccines and dewormed. Registered kids will be released with Tattoos, Pedigree and ADGA papers (atleast a temporary paper if ADGA is slow) upon full payment of the sale. Wethers or pet quality/non-breeding goats are sold, NO registration papers will be released or given to the Buyer at any time. All kids will be disbudded at 1-2 weeks of age. We are not responsible for redoing disbudding if needed after sale is complete, especially on bucks and wethers. An informational packet is given at time of sales, especially for a “new goat family”. A bill of sale is presented to Buyer at time of pick up.
Once the goat or kid leaves the farm all sales are final, NO further guarantee of health or quality is given or implied. All goats are sold as healthy when they leave the farm. Our farm is tested yearly on CAE/CL - negative 9/2016. Buyer has the right to review current blood test results, DHI milk test results and Linear Appraisal scores.
I know this seems like a lot, and to add more to it …. When you contact us for interest on a kid or adult goat, I will ask A LOT of questions. Questions to expect: what are your goals for the goat: milk?, show? 4H? Brush eater? Where will the goat be living? What other animals do you have? Have you had goats before? Etc… Reason being that we want to fulfill your goals and if we sell one of our goats, it will be healthy and safe with you and FOR you! If we don’t have just the right match for you, we can refer you to someone who does. If you are a first time goat buyer, Goats are HERD animals and need ATLEAST one other goat for companionship (no your horse, sheep, cat or rooster won’t do the trick) A good saying “Goats are like potato chips, you can’t just have ONE!”
We are happy to help with any questions you may have, especially to the “new goat families”
