We wanted to try out a larger breed in 2022. A local Goat Dairy, Treasured Sunrise Acres was able to answer my questions and I went to visit in April 2022. I picked out a beautiful British Guernsey girl - my Jassy Girl and have NEVER ONCE regretted that decision since!
( I also ended up bringing home her grand daughter Josie as a yearling)
I love the VERY gentle, patient, sweet nature of this breed and their sweet milk that resembles very similar to the Nigerian milk.

The Guernsey Breed was approved by ADGA and pedigrees started in the ADGA program in the fall of 2024!

Hillside Acre GP Jolene - our first retained guernsey in 2023 BGS#HB081122D DOB: 4/18/2023 will be ADGA registered Jolene is a farm favorite to anyone that visits! She is so sweet and so gentle! Hillside Acre PSC Goldie DOB: 3/8/2024 Will be ADGA registered Dam: Sophia Rose Sire: Cerus Goldie is 50% Guernsey/50% Oberhasli. I crossed these breeds for attachment and production improvement on the guernsey udder to move forward with. Sophia (Goldie's Dam) is my best producer on the farm with an amazing udder. Goldie is super long and level. Can't wait to watch this little love mature! |
